Sweet Little Angel Baby Fohner
Day 40:
Josh and family are getting settled in to the hospital in San Antonio. The doctors are still working to determine the best course of action for Josh. He will be on a very regimented schedule during his stay. The doctors have mentioned that they have noticed his eyes following them around the room. It may seem small but that is a good sign! Progress is slow but it is progress!
He is going to be so mad at me for posting this picture. This picture of Josh above was taken while he and I and a few friends were traveling across Europe together back in 2009. The picture earned him the nickname "Sweet Little Angel Baby Fohner". That trip contains a few of my favorite memories of Josh. One of them goes like this... Josh and I were broke and were counting the change in our pocket for every meal. Josh resolved to surviving on fresh baguettes from the bakery and red bull. We would sleep until noon in our hotel/hostel because if we slept that long, we didn't have to pay for breakfast so we would just get up and go straight to lunch. We met a friend of a friend while in France and asked her which of the 5 of us seemed the least like an American tourist? She said "Josh. Hands down." Josh took a lot of pride in the honor so we asked her, "Why Josh?" She responded, "He looks like a German tourist!" We all got a big kick out of that. Josh was the life of the party on that trip.
Sometimes I think that Josh is just sleeping until noon to avoid paying for breakfast. It wouldn't be unlike him to do so.
Josh's birthday is coming up soon on November 18th. He will be turning 27. My prayer for Josh is that 27 ends better than it begins. Please feel free to send him a card or some words of encouragement for his birthday!
1 Kings 19:5
He lay down and slept under a juniper tree; and behold, there was an angel touching him, and he said to him, "Arise, eat."
All In For Josh
