Update on Josh...Message for Mom
I started the day thinking about a past post John Michael made over a year ago. Back then the days seemed to crawl by. We navigated the same long hallway to the elevators headed to ICU, past the same faces as the medical staff changed shifts yet again. John Michael had made a reference to the movie Ground Hog Day in which each day was the same thing over and over. Now, a year later, everyday is a new day! Mike and I are working hard just to keep up with Josh's progress. Even the therapist said, "Just when I thought I had seen everything..." Josh continues to amaze us.
This past Saturday I received my first text message from Josh! I had just come in from running, Mike asked me if I had checked my phone. When I did, there it was, "I love you mom." There is no way to describe how wonderful that felt! All these things keep bringing us back to our knees to give thanks to our Heavenly Father.
Josh and Mike spoke at Har-Ber High School's FCA this past week. They were asked to speak on "Toughness". After Mike spoke Josh ended the talk taking questions from the players which was extra special for him. Both of them felt good about the time and hope they get more opportunities to share our journey in the future.
Josh has set some goals you can be praying for:
He wants regular "workouts"
He would like to participate in a Community Group
He wants to have regular time in the Scriptures
He wants to Talk
He wants to Walk
